Osgood Swamp

Underwater lodgepole pine stumps have been found beneath the surface of Osgood Swamp.

These stumps date back to the great droughts of AD 1100 and AD 1350.

The drought of 1100 lasted for about 140 years and the drought of 1350 lasted about 100 years.

During the time of these great droughts, Alaska was experiencing excessive precipitation.
