One of the most comprehensive and definitive activities at
Berkeley Echo Lake Camp is hiking.
Just walk out of your tent cabin and in a few minutes you
are in Desolation Wilderness, the Pacific Crest Trail, the
Tahoe Rim Trail, and in the El Dorado
National Forest. Visit beautiful mountain lakes: Echo Lake, Lake Audrain, Lake Tamarack, Lake Jabu, Lake Aloha, Lake Lucille. Bicycles are not permitted in Desolation Wilderness, but there are miles and miles of wonderful mountain trails to explore.

Although the summer weather is usually beautiful and fair
you must realize that this is high mountain country and
it could rain, snow, or get very cold at any time. Its a good idea to check the weather report before you head out.
