Corn Lily

Veratrum californicum is also known as:

• California Corn Lily
• California false hellebore
• Western false hellebore
• Skunk cabbage

Hellebore is from the Greek elleboros and Veratrum is from the Latin veratrum, both terms were used in antiquity for unknown poisonous plants.

Do not eat corn lilies.

Veratrum californicum is a member of the Liliaceae or Lily family.
