Sceloporus occidentalis

Western Fence Lizards are also called:

• Blue-bellies
• Swifts
• Spiny Lizards

Sceloporus is derived from two Greek words:

• Skelos means leg.
• porus means pores and refers to the femoral pores located along the underside of their legs.

Occidentalis refers to their western U.S. habitat.
