The leaves of the Squaw Currant are alternate, deciduous, simple, small (less than 2.5 cm), somewhat rounded, 3-5 lobed, resinous, and fragrant.
The flowers are small, pinkish white and inconspicuous.
The fruit is a waxy, red berry.
