The Main Intake Port
Swimmers should be careful around main intake port on the side of the pool near the west side ladder because there is a powerful suction.
Young swimmers with long hair should be especially careful near this intake point.
Every day we attach a 'vacuum cleaner' to this intake point and 'Hoover' the bottom of the pool.
Water containing twigs, bugs, leaves, and other debris is pumped up through the vacuum cleaner, through a small filter basket, through the pump and into the big sand filters.
After 'vacuuming' the pool the pump is turned off, the valves are shut, and the small debris basket is cleaned.
Then valves are opened and the pump restarted.
