Testing
We test the chemicals in our pool several times each day. Sometimes we use the
Taylor testing kit. Here's how:
- Water: Add pool water to both sides of the Taylor testing device on the right
- Chlorine: Add 5 drops of R-001 and 5 drops of R-002 to the left side of the Taylor device
- pH: Add 5 drops of R-004 to the right side of the Taylor testing device
- Shake: Compare the water colors with the permanent colors on the Taylor device
- Add chlorine if the left-side reading is less than 1.5
- Add soda ash if the right-side reading is less than 7.2
- Add muriatic acid if the right-side reading is greater than 7.6
