Many CIT's get to and from Echo Lake Camp on Amtrak.
A train runs between Emeryville and Sacramento and a Bus shuttles between Sacramento and the 'Y' in South Lake Tahoe.

If you take Amtrack to Echo Lake Camp, call Camp at (530) 659-7506
when you arrive at the 'Y' and someone will drive down to pick
you up.
